TIE YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR PROGRAM (TYE)

TYE is a Global Initiative designed for high School students (grades 9 to 12 or equivalent) integrating Classroom Sessions, Mentoring and Business-plan Competition with the aim to teach them Entrepreneurship, Leadership skills and to groom them as Entrepreneurs and future Leaders. The winning students from the Chapter level pitch competition are going to represent TiE Kerala at the worldwide pitch competition at Silicon Valley, California.

In Phase 1, students learn about Entrepreneurship, Ideation and Business basics in the activity based classroom sessions.

In phase 2, students will form 3-5 member teams, work on Original Business Ideas created by them with the help of Mentors to convert them into viable Business concepts and subsequently prepare a detailed Business Plan. Internal School/Chapter Business Plan competitions will be held to select the top team who will be representing TiE Kerala at the Global Competition.

In Phase 3, the selected teams from the internal competitions will be Mentored/Coached further to prepare them for the final competitions to be held in USA (team has an option to participate onsite at USA or offsite through video conferencing). The winners/finalists will be given Cash Awards, Merit Certificates, Admission/Sponsorship for courses by few prestigious Universities etc.

Update – TYE 2019-20

This year we had representation from 2 Government schools and 3 Private Schools with a total of 70 students.  Team WorldClass from Nadakkavu Government Girls School, Calicut which comprises of 5 students won the Chapter level competition with their product ‘WorldClass’ App.

The winning team from the Chapter level pitch competition is going to represent TiE Kerala at the TiE Global Finals (virtual) competition scheduled for 17-18 July, in which 32 teams are participating across globe. In view of the Covid 19 pandemic, TYE Globals will be conducted virtually over Zoom this year.
